Heavy Rain from Fay Remnants; Severe Thunderstorms Central U.S.; Dangerous Heat in the South

Post-Tropical Fay will bring heavy rainfall which may result in flooding in areas with poor drainage across portions of upstate New York today. Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and hail are possible today from parts of Kansas and Oklahoma into the lower and mid Mississippi Valley. September 2019 was a month with near record to record breaking high temperatures across the area and well below normal precipitation for much of the area. Far western Missouri and extreme southeast Kansas had above normal precipitation.
