Heavy Snow Across the Northern Plains and Great Lakes; Strong Winds for the East

Overview

A winter storm impacted extreme southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks from Sunday evening into Monday. The precipitation began as a combination of sleet and some freezing rain Sunday evening. Precipitation then changed over to snow starting late Sunday evening. Moderate to heavy snow then impacted southern Missouri late Sunday night and early Monday morning. Lighter snow fell from southeastern Kansas into west-central Missouri.

A secondary band of snow then pushed east across the region from Monday morning into early Monday afternoon. This band of snow brought an additional half to one and a half inches of snowfall to the area.
