Near to above-normal temperatures expected through Friday with temperatures climbing to near the 100 degree mark. A cold front and possibly some moisture from a tropical storm in the Pacific will bring cooler readings and a chance for rain for the weekend.
August monthly rainfall was below normal at Abilene and slightly above normal at San Angelo. Temperatures for the month averaged slightly above normal at Abilene and slightly below normal at San Angelo. The number of days with temperatures 100 degrees or more were 10 at Abilene and 7 at San Angelo.
