Areas of Heavy Rainfall and Critical Fire Weather on Wednesday

Heavy to excessive rainfall may bring flooding to parts of Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia Wednesday. Recently burned areas will be particularly vulnerable to flash flooding. Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected today through tomorrow, mainly each afternoon. Heavier showers/thunderstorms could bring localized rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches. If heavier amounts occur, impacts would be potential flooding of roadways and low-lying areas.
