Dangerous Heat in the Central and Eastern U.S.; Severe Thunderstorms in the Central U.S. and Northeast; Critical Fire Weather in the Four Corners

Dangerous, record-breaking heat will intensify across most of the central and eastern U.S this week. Heat indices will likely exceed 100 degrees. Severe thunderstorms are forecast across parts of the Upper Midwest into the Great Lakes, the Northeast, and the central High Plains. Overview

Severe thunderstorms impacted much of northeast and east central Kansas late afternoon into the evening hours on Monday, March 6th. These severe storms produced numerous hazards, including damaging winds, large hail, and a few brief tornadoes.
