Water Community
National Program
The Coastal Coupling Community of Practice Executive Committee is standing up the four working groups called for in the 2024-2027 Roadmap.
Total Water Level Working Group: The main goal of this working group is to help advance the science of coupling models. The first tast is to define the current state of total water level modeling.
Ecosystem and Water Quality Working Group: The main goal of this working group is to align hydrodynamic and hydrologic (physical) models with ecosystem and ecological models.
Bathymetric Data Working Group: The main goal of this working group is to contribute to a complete national set of bathymetric data. Coupled with this goal is the establishment of standard definitions and metadata and improved data access.
Communications, Education and Training Working Group: There are three main goals of this working group: (1) work with the three other working groups to complete a terminologies document for this community, (2) document model evaluation and validation procedures and create a repository of sample test cases, and (3) develop trainings and host events in support of students.
