A strong upper level disturbance diving southeastward into the Plains Thursday night into Friday morning will force a complex of thunderstorms into the region. A Slight Risk for severe weather exists in parts of eastern Oklahoma south of Highway 412 from after midnight Thursday night into mid morning Friday. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, but isolated large hail and tornadoes may also occur. Locally heavy rainfall potential will also exist Thursday night into Friday.
Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage late tonight into Friday morning across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Storms may become strong to severe. The highest threat of severe weather is expected between 3 and 7 AM late tonight/ Friday morning.
Widespread showers and storms expected tonight into Friday morning.1 to 2 inches are expected along & south of I-40, with locally higher totals up to 3”. Remain alert for warnings, Seek higher ground if floods threaten your location, and remember: Turn around, don’t drown!
