NWS Jackson

35th Anniversary & Observer Appreciation Day

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the weather forecast office in Jackson, KY, NWS Jackson held an open house to celebrate with their partners and the public served throughout eastern Kentucky. Additionally, Cooperative and CoCoRaHS observers who report daily to the office were honored and presented with certificates of appreciation. Despite the cool fall day, 80 observers and citizens came out to meet office staff as well as partners who work closely with NWS Jackson in order to disseminate accurate and timely weather information to the public and make daily decisions based on the weather. CLEP cadets presented the colors while office staff served lunch to all in attendance. Partners on hand included:
