Coastal Threats for the East and Gulf; Record Warmth for the Central U.S.

Persistent onshore flow across the Southeast and portions of the mid-Atlantic will keep the risk of rip currents through the weekend. Rainfall could be locally heavy across Florida, especially along the eastern shoreline. Meanwhile, record warmth for portions of the Plains and Midwest with elevated fire concerns. Overview

Two rounds of severe weather impacted southern WI yesterday. Hail up to golf ball and tennis ball size fell north of Madison in DeForest and Windsor with round 1 of storms. Then a rapidly moving line of storms caused tree damage and brought some power lines down in southwest WI, including Darlington, and some 1 inch hail in far eastern WI with round 2.
