Areas of Excessive Rainfall, Severe Thunderstorms, and Extreme Heat

Heavy to excessive rainfall is expected through tonight across portions of the central Plains. Areas of intense rainfall amounts could support increasing flooding concerns. Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of the central/southern Plains today and tonight, with large hail and damaging winds the main threats. Storm activity will start confined to the higher terrain, with chances expanding into the lower elevations/valley after Sunday. Temperatures will be around normal for almost mid-August.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon, especially over the higher terrain. Otherwise, temperatures will be near normal for August. Rain chances increase towards the middle of the week.

Each site records temperature, precipitation, and snowfall data.
