Heat and Fire Weather Concerns in the West; Excessive Rainfall Possible in the South-Central U.S.

Heat will build over the Intermountain West and the Southwest the next couple of days. Lightning from dry thunderstorms can create new fire starts and combined with gusty winds may cause a fire to rapidly grow in Oregon and northern California. Flash flooding will be possible in New Mexico and west Texas today, as well as parts of the southern and central Plains due to slow moving thunderstorms. Read More >

The EDIS system is being upgraded to improve efficiency and enhance security.

NWS recommends all partners register at their first opportunity for an account on the new EDIS system. If you have any questions, or problems, please send an email to:TOC.NWSTG@noaa.gov​

Also recommend customers sign up to receive NWS change notices via email at their first opportunity to ensure any planned NWS service changes or updates. Customers can sign up on the following web page http://www.nws.noaa.gov/os/notification/notif-list.shtml

NOTICE:

As of September 7, 2016, the new EDIS service is now active. To use the new service, you must submit your emails using the designated PIN assigned upon registration. The new Email address for this service will be as follows:

NEW EDIS Email Address: nws.rthkwbc.ops@noaa.gov
OLD EDIS Email Address: rthkwbc@noaa.gov

The old email address, rthkwbc@noaa.gov is planned for decommissioning on Thursday October 6, 2016. NWS recommends users begin transitioning to the new email address on September 7, 2016 to ensure successful delivery of all products sent via email.
