Shower and thunderstorm chances return to eastern OK and northwest AR Friday night and Saturday ahead of a strong cold front forecast to move through Saturday afternoon and evening. Dangerous lightning and a locally heavy rain threat are the main hazards. At this time, the majority of the precipitation is forecast to exit ahead of the cold air Saturday night.
An active weather pattern is forecast this weekend into early next week with a strong cold front and an area of low pressure moving over eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. With cold air in place, low winter weather potentials develop Monday and Tuesday. Continue to monitor forecasts.
Below seasonal average temperatures are forecast across eastern OK and northwest AR, with the colder conditions late weekend into early next week. A strong cold front moves through Saturday with the return of shower and thunderstorm chances. An area of low pressure looks to then move into the Plains early next week with additional precipitation chances.

We're collecting stories and photos from those who survived the tornadoes to be featured in a StoryMap on the event.
