Widespread Rain from Texas to the Central Appalachians; Heavy to Excessive Rainfall in Southern California and the Southwest

Scattered thunderstorms and widespread showers are expected from the Texas coast to the central Appalachians today. Heavy to excessive rainfall will continue in southern California into the Desert Southwest through Saturday. Rainfall map for Wednesday and Thursday across West Central Texas, with a focus on the heavier band from between Sonora and Junction north to Menard to northwest of Brady.
Another storm system will bring more chances for rainfall across West Central Texas, the highest probabilities are across the Concho Valley, Big Country, and Heartland with a medium to high chance of at least 1 inch of rainfall.
Heavy rainfall is again possible this week, especially Sunday into Sunday night. Most of the area has now been put under an excessive rain outlook.
Another upper level system will bring additional rain chances and a threat for some flooding late this weekend.
There is a Marginal Risk for severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening. The main hazards will be large hail, damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and perhaps an isolated tornado.
Near normal temperatures expected this weekend into early next week. Rain chances increase this weekend into Monday.
