Flooding Concerns Next Week

The trend continues that a fairly strong cold front is expected to move into the Panhandles this weekend into next week. With normal high temperatures near 90 for the Panhandles there's a low to medium chance that we could have highs 20 degrees below normal, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday.

With cooler temperatures next week will also come an increase in moisture for most of the Panhandles. Some of the moisture will be from thunderstorms, and some of it may come from just steady rain showers. Overall, given the potential for several hours of steady rain, and that there may even be several days of rain, we do have some flooding, or possibly flash flooding concerns for the Panhandles.

A couple more days of dry weather before the next push of moisture moves into the Panhandles. Saturday will be the start of what looks to be multiple days of showers and/or storms across the Panhandles. Although Saturday's chances look to be more in the northwest, with less than a 10 percent chance of storms in the south and east.
