The potential for 60+ mph wind gusts is increasing for Sunday. The timing for the strongest winds will likely be during the afternoon after the cold front moves through.
A strong cold front will pass through the panhandles during the morning hours of Sunday. After frontal passage strong north winds will blow across the panhandles. These winds can loft both dust and burn scar ash leading to reduced visibilities and air quality.
There is a low chance for some light precipitation Sunday, with the slightly better chances in the northern combined Panhandles. Some snow cannot be ruled out. However, in all, we are not expecting much precipitation to fall.
The panhandles will be warm for Saturday with highs that approach to even reach records. Still it is not excessively hot just yet, just a taste of summer...in March.
