Heavy Rain From the Central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic; Heat Wave Begins This Weekend

Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rain will impact portions of the central Plains into the Upper Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic through the weekend. A stretch of unusually hot and humid weather is expected across portions of the central U.S. and the Southeast beginning this weekend and continuing through next week. Low Storm Chances
Forecast highs tomorrow stay around 100 for most of the central and eastern Panhandles, with Palo Duro canyon expected to reach near 104. This heat isn't threatening record highs, but is still potentially dangerous if proper safety precautions aren't taken, especially at PDC.

Shower/storm chances aren't much to look at for a majority of the area today and tomorrow but are worth a mention, especially across the far reaches of the northwest Panhandles. For anyone that finds themselves with an isolated pop up storm, brief downpours, lightning, and perhaps some rogue gusty winds are possible.
