Due to the continued dry conditions across the region, critical fire weather conditions will likely arise once again this afternoon into the evening. Winds will be out of the south to southwest with gusts upwards of 30 to 35 mph. These conditions may result in wildfire starts and they could spread quickly.

The ingredients will be in place once again on Friday for a few strong to severe storms to potentially form across the southeastern Texas Panhandle. If storms do form, they could produce large hail and damaging wind gusts with a lesser threat for a tornado. There is uncertainty with how far south a cold front gets, which would limit the severe storm potential, so check back for updates.

Temperatures today will be warmer with mostly clear skies, highs should be in the 70s to 80s. A cold front will lead to a large temperature gradient tomorrow, with 60s to the north and potentially 90 across the south. Cooler air will stick around through the weekend leading to temperatures near average for early April. Winds will be breezy at 10-20 mph most days with higher gusts.
