Heavy Rain Continues in Florida; Cold Front Brings Thunderstorms and Showers to Central US

Scattered areas of heavy rain continue to produce isolated flash flooding across the Florida peninsula. Anomalous moisture will combine with a cold front and will bring heavy rain and scattered flash flooding across the Mid-South, Ohio and Tennessee Valleys today and Tuesday. Average Last Freeze Dates in the Panhandles

 

 

The Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles might be known for their hot summer days, but nights from late autumn through early spring can be cold. The normal daily minimum temperatures are at or below freezing (32°F) for nearly one third of the year or more at locations around the Panhandles. Often, the first freeze of the season happens in mid-October -- as the transition to colder weather in the Panhandles begins. The last freeze normally occurs in mid-April. The map below shows the average last spring freeze dates for observation sites across the Panhandles and in other nearby counties.
