Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. Average Last Freeze Dates in the Panhandles

 

 

The Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles might be known for their hot summer days, but nights from late autumn through early spring can be cold. The normal daily minimum temperatures are at or below freezing (32°F) for nearly one third of the year or more at locations around the Panhandles. Often, the first freeze of the season happens in mid-October -- as the transition to colder weather in the Panhandles begins. The last freeze normally occurs in mid-April. The map below shows the average last spring freeze dates for observation sites across the Panhandles and in other nearby counties.
