Super Typhoon Sinlaku to Impact the Marianas and Guam; Severe Weather Threat from the Southern Plains to the Great Lakes

Super Typhoon Sinlaku will bring destructive winds, widespread heavy rain/flooding, thunderstorms, and coastal impacts to the Marianas Islands into Wednesday. Typhoon conditions are likely over the Northern Mariana Islands. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected from the Southern Plains to the Great Lakes through Tuesday. NWS Amarillo Facebook Photo Competition

Do you like showing the beauty of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles and the many types of weather it gets? If so, now’s your chance! From now through June 23rd, you can submit your best photos to our Facebook page for the chance to have your photo voted as the best. The photo with the most likes and shares will not only have bragging rights for winning the competition but will have the chance of either being used in our weekly planner or used as the Facebook cover photo.

Guidelines:

To submit photos, simply post them to our Facebook timeline with a brief description (date, location, etc). Photos must be your own! Photos taken by others, overly photo-shopped images, and copyrighted photos by others will not be accepted.
The deadline for submittal is 1159 PM CDT on June 23^rd.
On June 24^th, the top 5 photos chosen by NWS Amarillo staff will be posted to the Facebook page to be voted on. To vote, simply “like and share” the photo before 11:59 PM CDT June 30^th.
The photo with the most likes and shares will be declared the winner on July 1st.
With permission of the photographer, the winning photo will be used in our weekly planner or as the NWS Amarillo's Facebook cover photo.
