If you were hoping for a winter wonderland to ring in the New Year, the forecast has other plans! 🌡️✨ We’re looking at a prolonged period of quiet, mostly beautiful weather across the plains. With high pressure settling in, those heavy coats might be staying in the closet this week as we see highs reaching the 60s and 70s. What to watch for: Outdoor Plans: It’s a great week for hiking or yard work, but remember the ground is extremely dry. Fire Risk: "Light" winds don't mean "zero" risk. Be cautious with cigarettes, trailer chains, and equipment given how dry and dormant the grasses are. Thursday: Some mid to high level cloud cover will move across the area. Keep an eye out for a stray sprinkle, but you might have better luck counting the sprinkles than actually measuring any rain. Enjoy the sunshine over the weekend! ☀️
After another mild December day, temperatures will cool into the 30s with light winds forecast across the Panhandles for New Year's Eve!
Our weather will be rather pleasant and palatable to start 2026, with highs mostly in the 60s to low 70s each day. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and relatively light winds are forecast as well.
