Summer-like temperatures are expected through at least mid to late week. Early season heat can result in heat-related illnesses. Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will range from 90-100F, with heat index values ranging from 100-105F.

A pretty warm start to the month of May with highs in the 90s region wide on Friday. A cold front approaches the region late Friday into Friday night, bringing low to medium (20-40%) rain chances Friday into Saturday. Expect cooler temperatures this weekend in wake of the passage of the front.

A moderate risk of rip currents is expected at area beaches today. Otherwise, mostly sunny and warm conditions are forecast at local beaches today.
