Last Map Update: Sun, Oct 4, 2026 at 3:52:59 pm CDT

A slow-moving front combined with deep moisture will result in scattered to numerous showers and storms today through early this week. Heavy rainfall may result in isolated to scattered flash flooding across portions of the region into Tuesday morning.
There is a High Risk of life-threatening rip currents at local beaches into early next week. Residents and visitors are strongly urged to stay out of the surf.
Deep moisture with surface level disturbances will maintain widespread rain chances into early this week. The greatest rainfall amounts are expected in the RGV and along the coast. Between today to 7 AM Tuesday, widespread totals of 2-4 inches are expected, but locally higher amounts of 5+ inches are possible. Heavy rain can lead to flash flooding, especially in poor drainage, low-lying, and urban areas.
A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 1pm Monday for the northern Gulf Waters and northern Laguna Madre. North winds 15-20 knots gusting up to 25 knots will result in hazardous seas with wave heights between 5-7 feet during this time period.
Warm temperatures and a high risk of rip currents are forecast for area beaches today. Partly sunny with showers and a chance of thunderstorms.
Rain chances and cooler temperatures are expected through early next week due to an unsettled weather pattern. Locally heavy rainfall may result in minor flooding issues or flash flooding.
