The combination of hot temperatures and relative humidity will result in a Major Heat Risk for large portions of Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley today. Visit heat.gov for a one-stop shop on heat and health.
Although high pressure in the middle layers of the atmosphere will initially produce dry weather, the approach of low pressure in the middle layers of the atmosphere will bring increased rain chances for the middle of the week.
Sunny conditions and warm temperatures are expected at area beaches. There is a moderate risk of rip currents and with the UV index extreme, be sure to use and reapply sunscreen often.
