Severe Thunderstorm and Tropical Storm Bertha Impacts

Numerous severe thunderstorms are expected across a broad region from the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast States today into tonight. Swaths of damaging wind gusts are expected and some tornadoes are possible. Bertha is expected to bring tropical storm conditions to portions of the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle westward to southeastern Louisiana later today and Wednesday. Read More >

Overview

A strong low pressure system brought heavy snow to portions of the area starting late Friday night April 22nd and persisting through Sunday April 24th. Blizzard conditions impacted southeast Montana, especially on Saturday, which included strong and gusty winds along with the visibility being reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times.  This storm system also brought beneficial moisture to the area including snowfall that contained a high moisture content.
