Excessive Rainfall in the Southern Plains; Extreme Heat Coming to the Southwest U.S.

Heavy to severe thunderstorms may bring areas of excessive rainfall and flooding over parts of the southern Plains through Friday. A Slight Risk of excessive rainfall has been issued. Overview

A strong low pressure system brought heavy snow to portions of the area starting late Friday night April 22nd and persisting through Sunday April 24th. Blizzard conditions impacted southeast Montana, especially on Saturday, which included strong and gusty winds along with the visibility being reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times.  This storm system also brought beneficial moisture to the area including snowfall that contained a high moisture content.
