Are you the leader or part of a team that organizes or manages outdoor venues such as sporting events, waterparks, fairs, concerts, etc? Do you have concerns that severe weather might impact participants? The National Weather Service is offering free training sessions to help event organizers and managers prepare for and effectively respond to severe weather. Whether it’s tornadoes, high winds, hail, lightning, or heavy rain; we want to help you better anticipate these threats. Let’s keep you and your participants safe this summer season. The objectives of the training will include: * Discuss types of weather that can have a significant impact on events * Learn about tools the NWS uses for predicting and warning for severe weather * Discuss resources available to help you prepare for and anticipate severe weather * Provide tips to keep you and your participants informed and safe from severe weather
