Spring Severe Thunderstorms, Excessive Rainfall, and Heavy Snow Today

Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening from eastern Texas into the lower Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys/southern Appalachians. Heavy to excessive rainfall may produce flash flooding from the lower Mississippi River Valley into the southern Appalachians today. Overview

A cluster of thunderstorms produced a brief, weak tornado during the mid-afternoon hours of March 24, 2024, on the east side of Garden City, KS. The tornado produced low-end EF-1 damage primarily to residential homes and businesses.
