Areas of Showers & Thunderstorms with Hot Temperatures for Many Locales During the Holiday Weekend

Showers and thunderstorms are expected along a stationary frontal boundary from the Mid-South to the eastern Gulf Coast region and northern Florida through Saturday. In the north-central U.S., locally severe thunderstorms and flash flooding will remain possible. 85th Anniversary of April 1935 Dust Storm (Black Sunday)

August 13 Widespread Damaging Wind

A forward propagating MCS/bow echo moved from northwest into south central Kansas during the late afternoon and evening hours on 13 August. Widespread damaging winds occurred along the entire path of the bow echo. The greatest damage occurred in Ellis County, where winds of at least 90 mph occurred in localized areas.
