A forward propagating MCS/bow echo moved from northwest into south central Kansas during the late afternoon and evening hours on 13 August. Widespread damaging winds occurred along the entire path of the bow echo. The greatest damage occurred in Ellis County, where winds of at least 90 mph occurred in localized areas.
Microbursts from thunderstorms in southwest Kansas caused damage to electrical lines, irrigation systems and structures south of the community of Woods, Kansas.
