Life-Threatening Flash Flooding in South Central Texas; Heat Continues from the Northern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic

Life-threatening and locally catastrophic flash and urban flooding is expected across portions of south-central Texas through early Friday, with significant river flooding and rapid rises on small streams, arroyos, and typically dry washes expected. The National Weather Service is looking for a volunteer Cooperative Weather Observer in or within 5 miles of Meade. We will provide all the equipment, supplies and training necessary to collect daily temperature, precipitation and snowfall data. All you need is your willingness to collect weather information on a daily basis and a location to set up the equipment.   The equipment comprises of a temperature sensor with a digital display unit and a standard rain gauge.
