Lake-effect Snow and Whiteout Conditions in the Great Lakes Region; Below-average Temperatures in the East

Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. The National Weather Service in Dodge City provides storm identification/spotter training sessions each spring.  
These sessions are done in cooperation with county Emergency Management agencies across the area.  All training 
is free and is open for anyone to attend and is not designed for just storm spotters.  Anyone with a desire to   
learn how to identify severe weather and to learn about the dangers from these storms are encouraged to attend.  

The program lasts around 1 1/2 hours.
