Widespread Showers Across the Eastern Half of the US; Severe Thunderstorms in Montana into the Plains

Widespread coverage of showers and thunderstorms across much of the central and eastern U.S., will produce areas of excessive rain in the northwest Gulf Coast, portions of the Mississippi Valley and the southern Mid-Atlantic states. Overview

Two tornadoes, both rated EF-1, produced damage in parts of west central Illinois west of the Illinois River valley during the evening of March 28th. Around 8 pm CDT, a tornado damaged homes and outbuildings south and east of Ipava in Fulton County. A second tornado damaged trees and roofs of buildings on the far southwest side of Peoria around 9 pm.
