Severe Thunderstorms in the Southern Plains; Heavy to Excessive Rainfall in South Central Texas

Widespread rain may produce flash flooding across the Southern Plains into the Ozarks today. Numerous instances of flash flooding are expected in south-central Texas, including the Hill Country. Overview: 11/05/17 Richland County Tornado

A High Precipitation (HP) supercell thunderstorm produced a tornado in northwest Richland County about 3 miles north of Noble at 5:24 pm CST on Sunday, November 5, 2017. The tornado was on the ground for nearly seven miles and nine minutes before dissipating about 3 miles north-northwest of Olney.

Other severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon of November 5th produced large hail, damaging winds and very heavy rain in parts of east central and southeast Illinois.
