

Spring (Mar - May) 2022 Precipitation Highlights:
- The spring 2022 season produced near or above normal precipitation over parts of eastern IL and the lower IL river valley. Effingham was 1.27 inches above normal while Champaign/Urbana was 1.16 inches above normal. Portions of central and southeast IL had below normal precipitation this past spring. Olney and Flora were 3.31 and 2.83 inches below normal respectively, while Canton, Peoria and Danville were 1.75 to 2 inches below normal.


Spring (Mar - May) 2022 Snowfall Highlights:
- Snowfall was generally near or below normal over much of central and southeast IL during the spring 2022 especially from I-72 south. Though pockets of above normal snowfall occurred around Bloomington/Normal, Lincoln, Galesburg and Morton, mainly when 3-5 inches of snow fell from Mar 10-11th.


Spring (Mar - May) 2022 Temperature Highlights:
- Temperatures were generally near normal across much of central and southeast IL during spring 2022, though April had much below normal temperatures with most days averaging below normal from the last week of March through the first week of May. Temperatures were as much as 18-25 degrees below normal Mar 11-12th when accumulating snow fell across central IL. Above normal temperatures prevailed in March and May over much of central and southeast IL. An early summer heat wave with tropical humidity levels occurred from May 9-14th with May 11th being the hottest with afternoon temperatures in the 90s and heat indices peaking from 100 to 105. Paris and Bloomington/Normal were 1.4 and 1.5 degrees above normal respectively and Olney was 1 degree above normal this past spring. Champaign/Urbana was 1.2 degrees below normal and Galesburg was 0.7 degrees below normal.
