What is Expected

  • Another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms will affect parts of southeast Illinois into this afternoon. 
  • The heaviest rainfall will occur along and south of the I-70 corridor...where additional rainfall of one half to one inch will be possible this morning into early this afternoon. Some areas of southeast Illinois received over 3 inches of rain from the storms that occurred over the area yesterday. 
  • A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM CDT for extreme southeast Illinois, mainly along and south of I-70. 

Outlook for this evening...

  • Scattered showers may linger into the early evening hours over extreme east central and southeast Illinois. Otherwise, the remainder of the area is expected to be dry for the evening fireworks.
