 March 2015 Overview

Temperatures were generally 1 to 5 degrees below normal during March.  The coldest temperatures during the month were March 5-6 when low temperatures were as cold as single digits below zero, and the average daily temperature was 25 to 30 degrees below normal. Precipitation during March 2015 generally averaged 1 to 2 inches below normal over central IL and 0.5 to 1.5 inches above normal over southeast ILbetween with around 5 inches or more of precipitation in far southeast IL at Flora, Olney, Robinson and Lawrenceville. Between 5-9 inches of snow fell along and southeast of a Rushville to Bloomington line during March 2015 mostly on the 1st day of the month, while 1-4 inches fell northwest of this line.
