Last Map Update: Fri, Dec 5, 2025 at 10:28:22 am PST

Coastal Flood Advisory will be in effect from 10AM to 12PM Friday. High astronomical tides will peak to 8.80 feet at the North Spit tide gauge on Friday. These high tides will couple with surge and tidal anomalies resulting in minor coastal flooding around Humboldt Bay. This will lead to up to one half foot of saltwater inundation. Areas typically impacted by coastal flooding include King Salmon, Jackson Ranch Road, and other low-lying areas around Humboldt Bay. Flooding may occur an hour or two before and after high tide is reached. For tides information at: tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/map/.
Higher than normal tides are forecast this week, which is expected to bring minor coastal flooding impacts around Humboldt Bay (King Salmon and Jackson Ranch Rd in the Arcata Bottoms). The absence of storm surge and high surf are likely to keep impacts minor and confined mostly to Humboldt Bay.
