Heavy Rainfall Continues in South Florida, Southern Rockies, and the Northern Plains

A stationary front will continue to bring heavy to excessive rainfall to South Florida into Saturday with localized and urban flooding possible. Heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast through Saturday over the southern Rockies into the northern Plains. Instances of flash flooding are possible, especially in higher terrain and burn scars. Seasonable fluctuations in temperatures and continued chances for showers are expected through this weekend into early next week. Saturday and Sunday will be warmer and drier than recent for most, but afternoon and evening shower chances will still exist. Heavy rainfall rates directly under storm cores will continue to remain possible. By late Sunday into Monday, a taste of fall moves inland from the Pacific bringing an increase in shower and thunderstorm activity. Cooler, near and below normal, temperatures are in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday (15-16th). Mountain snow above 8,500ft will also be possible.
