Extreme Heat and Tropical Storm Bertha Impacts

Dangerous heat will expand from the Gulf Coast into the Southern Plains and Desert Southwest through week's end. Additional extreme heat impacting the Pacific Northwest will shift to the northern Plains by the weekend. Tropical Storm Bertha is expected to continue to impact portions of the northern Gulf Coast from the western Florida Panhandle to southeastern Louisiana through tonight. Read More >

We'll see showers and thunderstorms increase today across the area. We could see localized flooding where stronger thunderstorms occur, especially over any recently burned areas, including the Wapiti burn scar near Stanley.

Most locations stand a pretty good chance of seeing at least some rain today, although not every location will. After today, precipitation chances dwindle to daily isolated chances favoring the higher terrain, while most locations will trend towards drying weather.
