Early Spring Heat Wave in the Southwest U.S.; Critical Fire Weather in the Central Rockies and Plains

An unusual early Spring heat wave will continue much above-normal temperatures over the Southwest U.S. through early next week. The record warmth continues across the area. All five of our tracking sites broke daily high temperatures yesterday, and will likely make a run at new records today and tomorrow. A brief cooldown is expected Saturday, but above normal temperatures remain.
We're expecting our first real taste of spring or early summer temperatures this week. If you're planning on getting out to area waters this week, please know the water is still very cold and dangerous!
We'll be warmer than yesterday, so expect to break more records! Here is the probability of reaching 80°F this afternoon. You can see it's about a 40% chance, 70-80% chance, and 90% chance at Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and Burley respectively.
