...Routine Climate Products Beginning for Sanford and Fort Pierce on
September 1st...

Airport climate records at Sanford (KSFB) and Ft. Pierce (KFPR)
were recently combined with climate data from long running nearby
Cooperative Observer (COOP) stations to form new ThreadEx data sets
at both of these locations. The ThreadEx project stitches together
climate records from two or multiple sources at a similar location
to extend the period of record and create a consistent data set of
extreme daily temperature and precipitation records.

The station thread for each of these sites are as follows:

Sanford:
                                      Period in Thread:
Sanford COOP (ID: SFNF1) 07/01/1948 to 02/18/1999
Orlando-Sanford Int`l AP 02/19/1999 to Current Date

Ft. Pierce:
                                      Period in Thread:
Ft. Pierce WP COOP (ID: FPCF1) 01/01/1901 to 07/30/1999
Ft. Pierce-St. Lucie County AP 07/31/1999 to Current Date

With these new threaded data sets in place, starting Friday,
September 1st, routine climate products for Sanford and Ft. Pierce
will begin to be issued from the National Weather Service office in
Melbourne, FL.
