.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT... A trough of low pressure across north Florida and deepening moisture across northern portions of east central Florida combined with daytime heating will allow scattered to numerous showers and lightning storms to develop across the interior, and then move toward the Atlantic coast, Cape northward, by early to mid afternoon, then points further south from mid to late afternoon. A few strong storms may develop with locally heavy rainfall amounts up to 2 to 3 inches, gusty winds to 40 to 50 mph and cloud to ground lightning strikes. Beachgoers should keep an eye to the west for approaching storms in the afternoon today. Be prepared to seek shelter if thunder is heard.
