Background:
The Downtown San Francisco weather station (site: SFOC1) stopped transmitting observations on April 6, 2019. As a result, real-time weather observations for the official downtown site have been unavailable. Though the instrumentation is not transmitting data, it continues to make observations and store the data. This allows National Weather Service personnel to obtain and update the missing data for climatological purposes. The National Weather Service is continuing to work with the instrumentation manufacturer to determine how the data transmission can resume. We apologize for any inconveniences this has caused.
Current Status:
The National Weather Service has obtained data for Downtown San Francisco through the morning of April 29.
Daily data for the current month can be viewed in our Preliminary Monthly Climate Data Report (CF6).
Data from previous months can be found on our local climate page.
Hourly observations through April 29 can be viewed here [pdf]. The timestamps are in Pacific Standard Time (UTC−08:00).
For any questions, please contact the National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area at 831.656.1725.
Please note that all climate data should be considered preliminary and have not undergone final quality control by the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI). Therefore, these data are subject to revision. Final and certified climate data can be accessed at the National Centers for Environmental Information's webpage.
