Heavy Rainfall and Flooding Concerns in the Southwest; Coastal Low to Impact the East Coast

Deep tropical moisture will lead to widespread showers and thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding through early next week over the Southwest and Four Corners. A coastal storm is expected to impact the southeast U.S. coast and mid-Atlantic regions with flooding, dangerous rip currents, gusty winds and heavy rain up much of the East Coast through early next week. Our office is located in Monterey, California, next to the Monterey Regional Airport and Naval Research Laboratory.  Monterey has been home to NWS Bay Area since the middle 1990s after our relocation from Redwood City, California.

Our office services 11 counties throughout the San Francisco and Monterey Bay regions with a population of more than 8 million residents.
