Severe Weather and Flooding Threats for the Central U.S.; Fire Weather Concerns for the Western U.S.

Severe weather and flooding threats will continue for portions of the central U.S. through Thursday, focused from the central High Plains to the Mid-Mississippi Valley. Hot and dry conditions will fuel fire weather concerns for the Intermountain West, and dry thunderstorms may spark additional wildfires. CoCoRaHS in California

The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) is a non-profit organization of volunteer backyard observers whose purpose is to help 'fill in the gaps' where measurable precipitation normally isn't recorded. Folks just like you are relied upon to accurately measure and report your findings on a simple to use form via the internet to the CoCoRaHs web-site. YOUR local National Weather Service will then use this information in its forecasts and post storm reporting. The information is also used for a wide range of research.
