November 30, 2021 - New this year, the NWS is offering a suite of experimental standardized Avalanche Weather Webpages at nine Weather Forecast Offices across the country. These offices are: Gray, Pocatello, Salt Lake City, Riverton, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Pendleton, Boise, and Great Falls. The webpages display NWS-issued weather alerts relevant to avalanche interests, and all avalanche center-issued Avalanche Watches and Warnings, with clickable points or polygons to pinpoint information for a specific geographic location. Detailed weather forecast information, in both tabular and graphical form, and links to the local avalanche centers are also available.
Each webpage has two sections, a nationally consistent display of avalanche weather information and avalanche alerts at the top, and locally specified content below.
