Welcome to the National Weather Service’s enterprise NOAA Weather Wire Service (NWWS).

Since inception, the NWWS has been the fastest method for the public to receive text formatted weather information, alerts and warnings from the local Weather Forecast Offices, National Centers for Environmental Prediction, and the
National Water Center via the Internet or any satellite broadcast.

NWWS-Open Interface is the most cost effective source for alerts and warnings.
SBN/NOAAPORT Channel 201 (aka PID201) is the most reliable source.
Both ingests together provide user’s the highest product availability.

Either ingest can be used by broadcasters to activate the local Emergency Alert System (EAS) when alerts or warnings are issued by the local Weather Forecast Office.
