Middle Tennessee Weather History For May 10th...
On May 10, 1933...The deadliest tornado to ever strike Middle
Tennessee touched down in Overton County and tracked northeastward
through the Beatty Swamps community 6 miles north of Livingston
before lifting in Pickett County, killing 35 people and injuring 150
others. The half-mile wide funnel destroyed every home in that
community, and killed or injured virtually every resident. Much of
the area was swept clean of debris.
