Overview

Four weak tornadoes impacted the region on the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday, June 7, 2025. Two EF-0 tornadoes impacted both the southside of Owensboro, KY, and near the community of Hatfield, IN, during the late afternoon hours. In
southeast Missouri, two EF-1 tornadoes struck Cape Girardeau County during the late evening hours, one near Oak Ridge and another near Fruitland.

It appears as though these storms were mini supercells/low-top supercells, which have most of the same characteristics as a traditional supercell with much less depth on the storms. There were circulations associated with the storms, but not quite on the scale we associate with a high probability of producing a tornado.
