Overview

The remnants of Hurricane Irma moved northwest from Florida and the southeast states into western Kentucky during the late evening hours of September 11th. Light to moderate bands of rain continued to spread westward through the area during the overnight hours and into the morning hours on the 12th. The remnant circulation continued to generate light showers from time to time into the morning hours on the 13th before fizzling out and pushing northeast of our area. Many locations picked up anywhere from 0.25" to 1.00", with some localized heavier amounts over western Kentucky approaching 1.50". Very little rain fell from the Ozark Foothills northeast towards Mount Vernon, IL.
