Heavy Rain And Flood Threat Continues For California, Critical Fire Weather Over The Plains, Wintry Conditions For The Midwest

Active weather pattern will continue across the U.S. into the weekend. Heavy rain with the continued risk of burn scar flooding will persist into Friday over central and southern California. Over the Plains and Desert Southwest, dry conditions will lead to extremely critical fire weather into Saturday.   • Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) - Located on Ford Island on Hawai`i's island of Oahu, PTWC provides tsunami warnings for Hawai`i and most countries in the Pacific Basin as well as other U.S. interests in the Pacific outside of Alaska and the U.S. West Coast.
  • International Tsunami Information Center (ITIC) - Collocated with Pacfic Region Headquarters, ITIC coordinates the efforts to extend the services of the national tsunami warning system of the United States to the international community in the Pacific basin.
