Heavy Snow Across the Northern Plains and Great Lakes; Strong Winds for the East

Overview

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved southeast across western Missouri and extreme southeastern Kansas late Saturday night. Multiple reports of wind damage were received with most of the damage reports occurring near the Interstate 49 Corridor. Wind gusts generally ranged from 40 to 60 mph. The observing station at the Joplin airport recorded a wind gust to 60 mph as this line of storms moved through.
