There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across all of west central Texas this afternoon and evening. The main hazards are large hail (potentially greater than 2 inches) and damaging winds. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along and behind a cold front as it moves south along I-20 mid morning, to a San Angelo to Brownwood line in the mid afternoon and along I-10 this evening.
Periods of locally heavy rainfall are possible across the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. This may result in localized flash flooding, especially in low lying and urban areas.
Cooler with Medium to high chances of rain through Thursday.
